Mr Jon Tyler

Jon became Head of LMS in September 2022, after leading a successful turnaround of Lucton School in Herefordshire as Interim Headmaster. Prior to that, he was Deputy Head (Academic) of Dauntsey’s School for six years during a period of record growth and results for the school. With a first-class honours degree from the University of Durham (where he was awarded the History Prize), Jon has also been a Head of History, Housemaster and Head of Gifted and Talented at previous HMC schools.

Jon's priorities are simple: he wants pupils to be happy and to achieve - and in that order. He had what he describes as a life-changing experience at an independent school himself as a teenager, benefiting from a bursary for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds, and he is determined for others to have the best possible education. He won a national teaching prize from O2 Learn in 2012 and has always enjoyed leading extra-curricular activities alongside his teaching, most notably coaching football teams to national success as ISFA champions.

Ms Claire Snowden

Read Bio

Ms Claire Snowden

Claire joined Lincoln Minster School in 2008 as a teacher of PE and Games. During her time at LMS, Claire has been part of the PE department and, more specifically, the tennis lead. The tennis highlights so far include winning the Lincolnshire LTA Tennis Educator and School of the Year Award four years in a row, whilst also being in the top 20 school rankings for boys tennis in 2021 and girls in 2017. Alongside this, there has been a growing tennis programme which often sees LMS players from the programme in the top 16 Nationally playing in Lawn Tennis Association tournaments.

Claire has always believed that education does not just include academic outcomes but that pupils should leave as confident and all-rounded individuals and that pastoral care is the core and heart of the School. Claire often talks about the 'family feel and community' at LMS and remembers the first time she stepped into the school and saw that every teacher knew every student and the mutual respect was apparent; the atmosphere, buzz and excitement for learning, each and every student proud to be wearing the school blazer and badge.

In September 2022, after four years as a Head of Year, Claire was appointed Assistant Head and Head of Keystage 3, the area which she is most passionate about.

Claire is looking forward to her new role instilling her core values of inclusion and individualism whilst teaching students to think intensively and critically with the purpose being to provide the things they need in order to develop in an orderly, sequential way into respected members of society.
