Emma Lormor
Specialist Cardiac Nurse at Lincoln County Hospital.

“I studied at Lincoln Minster School from 2008-2012 and have some wonderful memories from my time there.  Lincoln Minster School and its teachers gave me the foundations and the confidence to believe in myself, further my education and pursue my dreams.

“The opportunities outside the classroom it provides is what makes it stand out as a school. I was fortunate to go on some amazing trips, including one of Mr Grocott’s infamous Ski Trips to Canada, learn how to sail and become an instructor, try some new sports and captain my Year 11 netball team to international victory on tour in Malta in 2009, coached by Mrs Gilbert.

“In the years since leaving Lincoln Minster School I completed my degree at the University of Southampton.  I am now working as a Specialist Cardiac Nurse at Lincoln County Hospital in conjunction with the Lincolnshire Heart Centre. Since qualifying I have trained and become an advanced life support provider which allows me to lead and manage cardiac arrest situations.  As well as a student mentor, working and teaching nursing students from the University of Lincoln, something I thoroughly enjoy!

“My advice to current and future Lincoln Minster School students; get involved, try something new and take every opportunity that comes your way.  Especially your Year 10 work experience week.  I spent mine in a GP surgery shadowing nurses and doctors treating and caring for patients.  It was this week and the belief from everyone at Lincoln Minster School that inspired me to work hard and follow my dreams.”
