At Lincoln Minster School, we strive to create a unique boarding culture where full, weekly and flexi-boarders have equal opportunities and are all treated as equal members of our boarding family.
Termly boarders stay with us full-time, except for school holidays and exeat weekends.
Weekly boarding is available to pupils who live reasonably close to the school and prefer to return home at the weekend – this can be a great help if home is too far away for the daily journey to be reasonable.
Flexi-boarding or one-off stays may be available subject to space and, in such circumstances, students may stay a set number of nights a week, or may vary their nights as they see fit, with others popping in only occasionally as space permits.
Flexi-boarding allows any day pupil to enjoy the facilities and companionship of the boarding facilities. It allows day pupils to experience boarders’ activities, to have a sleepover with friends, to solve the problem of needing to stay at school late on a particular day or simply to assist parents who might have a short-term commitment that takes them away from home.

Lincoln Minster School has a diverse mix of nationalities in boarding, including British, Chinese, German, Spanish, Russian and Hong Kongese students.
The school’s ESOL Department includes highly-qualified teachers who liaise closely with curriculum teachers to ensure that all students’ needs are met.
ESOL classes are generally small – typically 2-8 students – and the school has a proud record of students achieving exceptionally high IELTS scores and passing advanced Cambridge EFL suite exams.
Senior students are specifically prepared for University life with specialist English for Academic Purposes lessons.
Our highly-experienced boarding staff ensure that all nationalities fit in well with school life, with the result that all nationalities/cultures are made to feel welcome.
