Home to our boy boarders from Year 4 to 11
Eastgate House was bought by Lincoln Minster school in 2010. It is set in huge leafy grounds - an ideal setting for the house which dates back to the 1830s - and currently provides a home for 21 boys between the ages of 9 and 15.
The house parents, Nick and Katherine Kirkwood, have several years' experience in boarding and believe in creating an extended family within the boarding house.
There are two assistant Housemistresses that help at Eastgate house. Christine Ellis has a wealth of experience, having worked for the school in various capacities for the last 30 years, and Verlie Campbell who has been at the school for 16 years. They have both seen many toddlers become confident young adults and they provide invaluable experience when dealing with boarders and the wider school community.
Also part of the boarding team at Eastgate is Leah Coupland. Leah came to Lincoln Minster School in 2001 as a Year 7 boarding pupil and remained at the school until completing her A levels. After taking a year out, Leah returned to work in the School Reception for a year and is about to embark upon her teacher training course. We are delighted to have her as part of the boarding team and we feel that her own experience as a boarder at LMS will be invaluable!
The boys at Eastgate make good use of the games room and the computer room and enjoy being in the garden on summer evenings. Regular trips to the cinema and other outings ensure a busy and stimulating boarding house environment. It is a wonderful and cohesive unit with a harmonious and lively atmosphere.
