The senior school production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has reached it’s halfway point with tickets sold out for the remaining performances on Friday and Saturday night. Audiences have been treated to an incredible display of acting talent and have seen Narnia brought to life in the Watkins Hall, with an enchanting set design and fantastic lighting making the production an unforgettable experience.
Head of Drama, Mrs Wafer said: “First published in 1950, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe remains one of the most popular, and best-loved, of children’s stories. It is fair to assume that there also are a good number of fully-grown adults who still cannot open a wardrobe door without a frisson of expectation, such is the power and magic of C.S Lewis’ writing!
Adapting and realizing this tale for the Watkins Hall stage has been a labour of love, made possible by an extraordinarily collaborative and mutually supportive cast and crew. Every challenge has been met with enthusiasm and boundless creativity, coupled with a willingness to give up time to design, paint and build. We have had a lot of fun creating the world of the play, and hope the audience enjoys the adventure as much as we have!”
