Raising funds and fostering social activities

The Friends of Lincoln Minster School exists to raise funds for projects across all three school sites and to foster social activities involving children, students, parents and teachers. We have donated many items to the school that enhance the experience of all students and children.

We  meet on  a regular basis during the year, typically at 7pm in the dining room of the Upper School on Eastgate. The current officers are:

  • Sally Mundy - Chairman (Senior School parent)
  • Paul Selfe - Deputy Chairman (Senior School parent)
  • Gemma Gilson - Treasurer (Upper School parent)
  • Debbie Mathews - Secretary (Lower School parent)
  • Ian Mathews - Deputy Secretary (Lower School parent)

In addition, the Principal of Lincoln Minster School and the Heads of St Mary's Upper and Lower School, together with a loyal core of parents and teachers, make up The Friends of Lincoln Minster School Committee.

To continue this level of support for our children at the school we need volunteers to either join the committee or help out at the events. If you could help or would like to get in touch on another matter, please contact us via one of the School Offices or send an email.

One of our major fundraising events during the year is the Lincoln Christmas Market, where we sell refreshments from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon from the Upper School dining room and outside in the Courtyard. The stall is manned on a voluntary basis and your help would be very much appreciated. Please look out for rotas posted at each site later this term.

We have donated many items to the school that enhance the experience of all students and children. During the last academic year we purchased a wall-mounted flat screen television with DVD for the Upper School, board games for the after-school club at the Lower School, a set of hymn books for the Recital Hall at the Senior School, and a DVD camcorder and tripod for use on all sites. Our ongoing venture (in conjunction with the school) is to add books to our newly refurbished reading room at the Senior Site and to add to the fiction libraries on all sites.
