In Years 3-6 there is an increasing emphasis on specialist teaching. There is an extension of subjects beyond the National Curriculum with the following subjects being taught:

English Maths Science
History Geography French
Music Religious Education ICT
Games and PE Design Technology Art

Drama, Personal, Social and Health Education is taught weekly by the form teacher. The National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies are used as a framework for English and Mathematics. All children are examined in the National Curriculum Key Stage Standard Attainment Tests (SATs) and can also sit 11+ and Common Entrance examinations.

As the Choir School for the Cathedral, Lincoln Minster School naturally places a strong emphasis on developing the musical ability of all its pupils. There is the opportunity to learn a wide variety of musical instruments from a large team of music specialists. Choirs, ensembles, orchestra and bands enrich the life of the school.

A wide range of activities offer pupils the opportunity to develop beyond the classroom. Activities such as Brownies, ballet, orchestra, drama, tennis, public speaking, football, hockey, and karate take place after school or at lunch times. Throughout the year there are educational trips to places of interest, and a programme of residential trips from Year 3 to Year 6 including stays in London, York and Paris. The school also offers an annual ski trip and a PGL water sports trip to the Mediterranean.
