Have fun in the holidays with Active Zone
Ever-popular, Active Zone is our holiday club which runs during the longer school holidays. Any child between 3 and 12 can join the fun, whichever school or nursery they go to - they don't have to attend Lincoln Minster!
Run by dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified staff who work here throughout the school year, Active Zone is a well-planned mixture of activity days at school and trips away, often centred around a fun theme.
It is advisable to book early for Active Zone, especially on trips days. To find out more, please contact Becky Skelton on 07748 605617.
Our Egg-cellent Easter 2013!
Miss Skelton writes:
'What an egg-cellent time we had! Anything we could think of to do with eggs and we did it, including standing on a tray of eggs to see if it would take our weight! This was going well until Mrs Gainey encouraged the children to chant for me to stand on them... 7 broken eggs later and yucky feet...!
'We started the week with egg-citing egg rolling championships. Decorated beautifully, the children then carefully rolled their eggs down the hill. Ours were the strongest eggs ever! No matter how hard we rolled or threw them down the hill they would not crack. Lots of fun was had by all, with Sam Bakhshalian and Peter Barker winning the championship. Well done boys.
'The younger children created some wonderful Easter cookery creations and enjoyed tasting them too. We have made wooden spoon friends, Easter bonnets, Faberge eggs, plant pots and lots more. The older children egg-perienced some very creative science with Mrs Gainey. Turning real eggs into rubber eggs, making eggs jump into bottles and many more eggs-traordinary ideas. They had an ‘Apprentice' themed day using a cream egg... Look out for the next ‘Junior Apprentice' we have some fab candidates!
'Mrs Nowell entertained the children with a fabulous day filled with music. The children told stories using musical instruments, created a lively piece of Jazz and sang and played to some wonderful Easter songs. They performed a super show to the children who thoroughly enjoyed being their audience.
'Throughout the holidays we have been on some great trips and we were lucky to have the sunshine joining us. Pleasure Island was fantastic as always, with 6 year old Tyler taking me on an upside-down roller coaster... what a brave boy! We have bowled, soft played, laser quested, fed the animals at the farm, enjoyed tractor rides, swam, ice skated, toured and sampled Cadburys World, but most of all, played with our friends! A busy, exciting and fun time was had by all (including the grown-ups).
'Many thanks to all of you that joined in the fun over the holidays! Superstars!'
