A vibrant learning community and unique study experience
"Joining an exciting, vibrant and dynamic learning community is critical at post-16 level. Lincoln Minster School offers a unique and rich study experience to each student who joins our 140-strong Sixth Form.
"Our vision is to cultivate an erudite learning community where each student feels valued and encouraged; motivated and determined to make the most of every opportunity. The quality of our newly developed Sixth Form Centre and the facilities we offer are quite exceptional. Students have at their disposal an impressive common room, resources area and expansive study rooms, resourced with excellent ICT facilities.
"Universities and employers are searching for candidates who possess a range of skills; a willingness to lead and participate, as well as those with solid academic results. Negotiating a highly competitive marketplace can be difficult and so we aim to equip and encourage students to develop a most impressive CV which will get them noticed for all the right reasons.
"In addition to the optional clubs and activities on offer, every Lincoln Minster School student participates in a broad enrichment programme, with options including: Self-Defence, Grub-on-a-Grant, Stress-Busting and Relaxation, the Bluffer's Guide to Music, Fitness and Agility and Asset Languages. We also visit universities in order to prepare for the UCAS application process.
"The rigours and pressures students face as they embark on their next ‘big step' are numerous and complex. It is crucial, therefore, that our students are properly cared for, advised, encouraged and guided wisely at all junctures. We have a comprehensive pastoral care programme for our Sixth Formers which was highly praised during our School Inspection in October 2007 and is something we are proud of. We strive to develop the ‘best in everyone' and are committed to providing the very best for our students.
"Together, we will ensure that our students are ready and able to achieve their goals and ambitions and can approach their future studies, vocation or employment with the right skills, enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism. Our Sixth Form maxim is Carpé Diem - Seize theDay!"
