Congratulations to the U13 girls hockey team who beat Wellow House 6-1 on Wednesday (18th) afternoon.

“Suzanne scored twice, as did Chloe, with a goal apiece for Mackenzie and Macey (pictured). It was, however, a real team performance with solid defensive play from Caitlin, Bryony, Kitty and Abigail.

“Kitty and Abigail were making their first appearances for the U13 girls hockey team and both did exceptionally well. In midfield, Suzanne and Lucy ran the game through the middle with excellent support on both flanks by Chloe, Emily (captain), Nia and Macey.

“Up front Mackenzie and Daisy did not allow the Wellow defenders a rest at any point in the game; they were a constant thorn in their side! Emily had a quiet afternoon in goal due to the whole team in front of her playing so well. Player of the Match, as voted by Wellow House, was Suzanne. Well done!

“I am particularly pleased to see the girls play to the system we agreed to and prepared for. We pressed the opposition all over the pitch and moved the ball quickly and purposefully. Wellow House struggled to keep up with the pace we played at. Well done to all who played. I look forward to further matches next half term.”
