Welcome back to a new school year. I am pleased to report that the children, whether at Pre-Prep or Prep have all made a super start. Smiles and a positive attitude have been in abundance over the first few weeks of the year. School is vibrant with calm pupils who are motivated to learn.
As shared with you on our information evenings we are very proud of our pupils’ achievements in their end of year SATs tests in Year 2 and Year 6. With attainment way ahead of both Lincolnshire and National averages the year promises to be an exciting one with high standards to maintain and even higher ones to aspire to.
The pupils are at the heart of every decision we make in order to ensure that they are happy, confident and that opportunities are grasped. Indeed one of our very first assemblies concentrated on “doors of opportunity” and how important it is to try new things and make sure we experience as many opportunities as possible. We have also returned to our “Values” and pupils at Pre-Prep have explored recipes of happiness with pupils at Prep learning a lesson from the Cuckoo bird and its poor attitude to values.
Learning, whether inside or outside the classroom, on a school trip or engaging with visitors to school is central to every activity. Many year groups have already enjoyed their “WOW” days/experience with some happening later in the term. The children’s learning and the curriculum being followed will be able to be accessed through our website so that you can reinforce and consolidate learning at home.
Educating the children of today is one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs that it is possible to have. However, we cannot be totally successful without your support. We look forward to working with you again this year towards everyone’s common goal; pupils who feel a sense of pride and belonging in their school and show respect with a love of learning.
