Music for Malawi

Friday 8th November

7.00pm - 9.00pm

The event will take place on Friday 8th November from 7 - 9 pm in the LMS Drama Studio, which will provide an intimate and atmospheric setting. Tickets will cost £14 (£12.00 concessions) available now on WisePay or on the door, with proceeds going to Chimbota Secondary School in Malawi.

The Drama and Music departments of LMS Senior School are excited to confirm that on Friday 8th November we will welcome ex-Head Pupil Will Crawford back to the school for a very special event. Since leaving LMS in 2016 to study guitar at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Will has formed the Cherry Stone Duo, alongside harpist Emily Hopper. They have performed widely and deliver an original and innovative sound, aiming to explore the potential these two instruments can create together and to share this rare chamber ensemble with audiences everywhere. They have just released their debut EP: A Dance of Mermaids. The evening will also feature the talents of Chris Roberts, a freelance guitarist who is currently touring the UK with the launch of his official debut album, Adra, which takes the ancient bardic music of Wales as a foundation, placing it alongside Welsh folk song, West African music, and contemporary classical composition.
