LMS News Club’s Henry Osbourne reports on the Queen’s 90th Birthday and Scarlet Turner reviews ‘professional YouTubers’.
The Queen’s 90th Birthday
The Queen celebrated her birthday on the 21st April at Windsor Castle.
The Queen has two birthdays. Her actual birthday is on 21st April and her official birthday is on the 11th of June which is known as ‘Trooping the Colour’. The Queen is the longest reigning monarch, ruling longer than her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria.
Her Majesty has now reached the age of ninety, an extraordinary milestone. The senior school celebrated Her Majesty’s birthday with a British themed lunch menu including Fish and Chips, Sausage and Mash, and Rhubard Crumble with Custard.
YouTubers in the news
Youtube is changing the way we live. Three internet sensations and best selling authors– Caspar Lee, Joe Sugg and Zoe Sugg– have recently published books.
Scarlet Turner reviews them here.
Youtuber Caspar Lee has published his 1st novel called ‘Caspar Lee’ where he talks about how he started youtubing, which is now his fulltime job. The book is also about his life in South Africa and how he started on YouTube where he has 10,000 followers/subscribers for his posts of funny videos and pranks. This book is good for other people who want to start youtubing as a career and don’t know where to start.
Next we have Joe Sugg, AKA thatcherjoe, and he also does youtube as a fulltime job. Joe’s graphic book is called “Username Eve”. I think people will enjoy this because its based on his life but with a girl as the main character. It covers school life and how he did not fit in. Zoe Sugg, Joe’s sister, also has two books ’girl online’ and ‘girl online on tour’ and it is based on a girl called Penny who makes blog posts and has a boyfriend. The secret is that he is famous. Read her book to find out who this is…
