We are proud of our outstanding reputation for music – not just in the Senior School but right from the start in Pre-Preparatory, where the foundations are enthusiastically laid for a lifelong love of music.
Music is absolutely central to life at Lincoln Minster School.
Pupils of all ages are encouraged to participate whether through playing, composing or attending concerts and recitals.
Our links with Lincoln Cathedral underline this musical focus, and the experience of performing and hearing music in the wonderful cathedral setting is one that our students will take with them and remember forever.
“The pupils amaze me with their wonderful musical achievements both inside and outside of school.”
The ongoing dedication and enthusiasm of our students sees Lincoln Minster School host a number of concerts right through from Pre-Prep to Sixth Form.
Opening doors to an exciting career in music.
Our students go on to a wide range of exciting careers – many of them fulfilling their musical dreams.
From Class of 2007’s Laura Curtis who now works as an award-winning composer in the theatre and film industry, to 2012’s Avalon Summerfield who is now a Freelance Classical Singer – taking part in both curricular and co-curricular music at Lincoln Minster School can lead to an exciting future.

I honestly can’t ever see myself doing anything else, so as long as I live I want to perform. My ultimate goal is of course, the West End and/or TV.”
The perfect environment to learn with our outstanding music facilities.
Our dedicated learning space for music – the Harper Building – was opened at our Senior School site in 2010 and provides our pupils with a modern, bright environment in which to practice.
It features a 200-seat recital hall, individual practice rooms, music technology suites as well as classrooms and a fully-equipped drama studio.
These facilities, together with the dedication and expertise of our teaching team, and the passion our pupils have for the subject combine to encourage young musicians to flourish.
