Nursery & Pre-Prep School
Our UK Top 50 Prep School and OFSTED Outstanding Nursery
specialise in finding the best in every pupil and place equal value on cultural,
technological, scientific, linguistic and creative subjects.
We strive to create an exciting and inspiring learning environment in which your child will flourish.
Our aim is to cultivate inquisitive minds, so children are urged to ask questions, to investigate and to make their own discoveries through our thoughtfully planned activities.
We believe in providing a broad range of experiences to help develop a love of learning. We are also careful to ensure that class sizes are a sensible size to allow for positive social interaction between children.
The Nursery and Pre-Prep School is based in an idyllic, secure, purpose-built site inside the historic city walls and within view of the wonderful Lincoln Cathedral.
“High priority is given to the children’s happiness. All adults act as excellent role models so that children learn and play imaginatively and cooperatively, as they explore their well-resourced environment.” – EYFS Inspection 2014
At the Pre-Preparatory School we make sure we provide the encouragement children require to develop positive self-esteem, to be proud of their individual achievements and to encourage and support others as needed.
High yet achievable expectations are set for children on an individual basis and we place great emphasis on finding each child’s range of abilities and building on all areas of their learning to give them an all-round, balanced, exciting education.
Continuing to engage children in their learning, challenging them, encouraging them to think for themselves, offering ideas, helping them to learn from first-hand experiences and see mistakes as opportunities to find the right answers are all crucial in these years.
We also focus on developing independence in everyday life-skills and becoming more independent learners.
From Nursery to Year 2, our pupils enjoy a varied and exciting education in a relaxed ‘home from home’ environment.
We welcome children from 2 to 4 years old to our Nursery – find out more about where the Lincoln Minster journey begins.
Our Pre-Preparatory School comprises of the EYFS and Key Stage 1 (KS1). KS1 includes Years 1 to 2, where the children continue their learning journey and build on the solid foundations laid in EYFS – a chance to discover, explore, enjoy and delight!
Children thrive as they move through the Pre-Preparatory School in Years 1 and 2, with teachers who are passionate about teaching, learning and enthusing their pupils.
The Pre-Preparatory School is open from 7.45am each morning and the children are looked after by our own staff until the main school day begins.
The after-school club is run by a member of the Pre-Prep team. The children are offered a light snack and there are a variety of activities on offer; it is a chance for them to relax after a busy day at school.
Children might enjoy craft work, reading, computer games or role play. When the weather is fine there are often games and activities available outside as well as inside.
After-school care is available until 6pm and a small charge is made for this service.
We highly recommend visiting our school to see what we are all about and we welcome you to come and see the school for yourself. Enjoy the chance to meet the teachers and visit lessons: arrange a visit.
