Holiday Club Manager Becky Skelton talks about the club’s exciting summer of activities.
“Despite the wet weather, Holiday Club had a super summer! Lots of children from Nursery up to Year 7 enjoyed adventurous days out, busy days in school and lots of fun with friends.
“Bouncy castles, duck racing, junk percussion, reptiles and circus skills were particular highlights, to name just a few.
“Trip days are always a highlight, although I think the camping trip at Sherwood Pines is always a winner! Despite 20 hours of persistent rain, children from Year 2 to Year 7 set off with high spirits to sleep in the woods. Throughout the day we learned about willow weaving, shelter building to keep us dry and campfire cooking as we enjoyed an outdoor tea. Unfortunately, the rain got heavier and the decision to ‘camp’ inside was made. Warmth and hot chocolate was enjoyed by all before getting a good nights sleep.”
