An inspirational environment to get creative with our outstanding art facilities.

Creativity and individuality are celebrated throughout the school, with a rich array of opportunities for pupils to express themselves. Pupils can benefit from well-connected tutors, regular engagement opportunities with local, national and global competitions and festivals, and one-to-one tutoring with 13 specialist peripatetic music tutors.

Our dedicated learning space for Music and Drama, the Harper Building, was opened at our Senior school site in 2010 and provides our pupils with a modern, bright environment in which to practice.

Olivia Webb

"My love for acting was really developed and curated at Lincoln Minster School. It started when I asked Mrs Wafer in Year 8 about the senior production and if I could be in it and it just went from there. I began as a Dryad in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and by the time I was in Sixth Form I took the roles of Viola in Twelfth Night and Roxanne in Cyrano de Bergerac. I was also able to take part in the ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition and gained the award for the Best Performance in 2017.

I am now a recent graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City and producing and staring in a play that will be put up off-off Broadway in November. Its a tough industry, but I'm ready and willing to take the bull by the horns and I am very grateful to LMS and particularly Mrs Wafer."

Amaya Clarke

"I left Lincoln Minster School last year after completing my A levels. I’m currently studying acting at The Oxford School of Drama and I’m about to spend the summer with the National Youth Theatre. I attended Lincoln Minster School from the age of seven all the way up to eighteen. Throughout my time at LMS, they nurtured me into becoming the person I am today. The drama department worked tirelessly, putting in extra hours at break time to run through my drama school audition pieces with me to make sure I had the best shot at this immensely competitive industry. The senior productions at LMS sparked my passion for acting. I will always be in awe of the level of detail and skill that gets put into those productions and the memories made while producing them will last a lifetime. The drama department made my time at LMS feel hand tailored and that my aspirations of becoming an actor were supported throughout my academic education. I can’t thank them enough."

"Before I moved to LMS I was told I couldn’t do Drama as a GCSE. I wouldn’t have got any GCSEs at my previous school and A level would have been out of the question, let alone going to university. On the Taster Day I met Mrs Wafer.  She told me that I could do Drama and that there were ways to get around my difficulties. I’ve was attached to the lighting department from then and went to get my highest grade of an 8 in GCSE drama and that was doing the technical side of the department in lighting. I also gained an A Grade in A-level doing lighting as well. I’ve helped with the school productions in lighting and mentoring the years below in the technical Side of theatre with some of my classmates who were doing sound and costume and set design. I’m now in my second year at Rose Bruford College doing Lighting Design for Architecture. I’ve had many experiences here and my highlight would be going to Sweden for an exchange program to advance my knowledge of the industry I want to go into. None of this would have been possible if Mrs Wafer hadn’t been there to support me along the way."
