Learning Support Assistant

Required: As Soon As Possible

Part Time: 14.5 hours per week; 10.00 – 16.00 Monday and Tuesday, 10.00 – 12.30 Thursday

We are seeking to appoint a professional, enthusiastic and vibrant One to One Learning Support Assistant at our Senior School. The role will require you to specifically support an ESOL pupil on a one to one basis in the classroom, enabling them to access the curriculum in core subjects. Working alongside the Classroom Teacher, you will take a pro-active role in supporting the educational needs of the pupil and their academic progress.

The successful candidate will ideally be a graduate or have LSA/TA specialist qualifications.

This position is available on a fixed term basis until August 2019 initially with the possibility the contract will be extended for the 2019/20 academic year.

Senior IT Technician

Required: As Soon As Possible

Full Time: 40 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Senior IT Technician to provide a high-level IT support service to staff and pupils across our three school sites. You will work under the guidance of our experienced Network and Systems Manager supporting day to day tasks and routines.

Experience of maintaining computer and print hardware systems is essential, along with experience of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems, Apple iOS, MacOS and associated hardware, anti-virus products and Microsoft Office 365.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player, possess excellent communication and technical skills, apply an analytical approach to solving problems, and adopt a flexible working attitude to work to deadlines and demands as required.

Candidates must have previous experience within an IT support environment. Experience in an educational environment is desirable, but not essential.

Salary is negotiable, dependent on experience, but will be in the region of £18-24k.

Assistant Housemaster / Housemistress

Full Time, Term Time only

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Housemaster or Housemistress to join our boarding team in our junior boarding house, The Mount.

The purpose of the role is to help manage the smooth day to day running of the boarding house, ensuring a consistently high quality boarding provision, including deputising for the Housemaster on all matters of boarding as and when required. The post-holder will provide a vital link between the school and the boarding houses to ensure boarders receive excellent pastoral and academic support.

The Assistant Housemaster/Housemistress will be responsible for ensuring all boarding procedures are up to date and compliant with the National Minimum Standards (NMS), and are followed from admissions and induction of new boarding students, through to budgeting and ensuring transport arrangements are in place for boarding children upon starting and finishing each half term. He/she will also take a leading role in planning and delivering evening and weekend activities, including leading trips, activities and excursions, contributing to the boarders’ extra-curricular programme, and encouraging student participation.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for promotion of the boarding provision including leading tours of the boarding houses and facilitating taster days, and night stopovers for potential pupils and parents.

We would like to hear from candidates preferably with previous experience of working in a boarding house community, and experience in medical and/or pastoral care. A strong team work ethic and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work with discretion and empathise with young people.

The successful candidate would be required to occupy the accommodation provided by the school in the boarding house. Furthermore, the school would welcome applicants whose spouse/partner or adult family member would welcome the opportunity to play an active part in the day to day life of the boarding community.

Grounds and Maintenance Operative

Full Time: 40 hours per week

We are seeking to appoint an efficient and hardworking GMO to join our busy Maintenance team. You will be responsible for undertaking grounds and garden maintenance, buildings maintenance, portaging and compliance tasks as directed by the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor.

The hours of work are 40 hours per week, worked on a three week rotating 8 hour shift pattern. There is a requirement to cover rotational weekend on-call duties and a degree of flexibility to accommodate evening and holiday events.
