Two Stand-out Wins at National Best In Everyone Awards

Two stand-out awards at the United Learnings Best in Everyone Awards.

Lincoln Minster School is celebrating after one of its students, Georgia Stone, was given the Drama Award at United Learning’s Best in Everyone Awards Ceremony.  There was further cause for celebration as Learning Support Assistant Julie Page was named Teaching Assistant of the Year.

The annual Best in Everyone Awards honour individuals, teams and departments from schools across the Group for the exceptional contributions they have made to school and community life.  This includes recognition for stand-out academic successes, sporting and musical achievements and commitment to leadership and service.

Earlier in the year, schools across the Group had submitted nominations which were then considered by a judging panel.  There was a strong field of nominees in all categories this year and the judging panel had a tough task choosing the winners.

Year 11 student Georgia had been nominated for her enthusiasm for drama and for being an “outstanding role model” to her peers.  A Drama and Music scholar, Georgia was formerly Head Chorister at Lincoln Cathedral and has taken on a number of acting and stage management roles over a range of school productions, consistently bringing her talent, ability and excellent focus to the table.

In her nomination, Learning Support Assistant Julie was said to “embody everything that Lincoln Minster School is about”, providing exceptional pastoral care to students and playing a vital role in the co-ordination of the school’s annual productions.  Her commitment was said to be exemplified in her work with the school’s charity committee, through which she has helped to raise thousands of pounds in recent years for many worthwhile causes.

Georgia and Julie joined the other award winners at a special ceremony at The Queens Hotel in Leeds where they were each presented with an engraved glass award.  2022 marks the tenth year that the awards have been held and a return to an in-person ceremony following two years of virtual celebrations.  Bespoke videos announcing the winners were also posted on United Learning’s Twitter account to coincide with the live event, giving over 10,000 peers, colleagues and family at home the opportunity to join in the celebrations.
