Academic Excellence

Our teachers are committed to delivering the highest quality of teaching, learning, and academic support. With small class sizes, we ensure that students receive the appropriate assistance and challenges tailored to their individual needs and abilities.

These strengths are reflected in our recent results: 10% of all GCSE entries were awarded the top grade of 9, which is double the national average. Additionally, 41% of grades ranged from 9 to 7, and 61% fell between 9 and 6. Our pupils consistently perform well at both GCSE and A-Level, highlighting the effectiveness of our teaching and the dedication of our students.

We provide students the opportunity to develop all aspects of their character and reach their full potential through a wide range of clubs and activities. With over 100 clubs available, we dedicate up to an hour each day to these activities, fully integrated into the school day.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is central to life at Lincoln Minster School, ensuring that every student feels happy, safe, and supported so they can thrive both academically and socially. Our pastoral structure, which includes Form Tutors, Heads of Year and a specialised pastoral team, creates a nurturing environment where every child is recognised and valued. Through small tutor groups, PSHE lessons, and opportunities for leadership in wellbeing initiatives, pupils develop resilience, confidence and emotional awareness. As a proud STEER Champion School, we use proactive monitoring to offer early and personalised support, helping students manage challenges and grow with confidence.

Recognised nationally as a finalist for the Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing, Lincoln Minster School goes beyond traditional care, offering resources like free expert-led mental health sessions for parents through Let’s All Talk Mental Health.

Our nationally recognised careers programme, shortlisted for the 2025 Independent School of the Year Award in the Student Careers category and awarded the Platinum Career Mark, empowers every student to view their career as a journey of growth and exploration.

From Year 7 to Year 13, students develop the confidence, leadership and decision-making skills necessary to navigate their future with purpose. Our approach emphasises helping pupils identify their individual strengths and interests, ensuring they leave school prepared to excel in university, apprenticeships or the workforce.

Through the curriculum and initiatives like The Minster Award, our students acquire essential real-world employability skills, including communication, teamwork, digital literacy and resilience.
