The journey from application to enrolment.

Step 1: Submit an Application

Before applying, you may wish to speak to us about your child’s needs, visit us on an Individual Tour or take up the opportunity to enrol your child on to a Taster Day. Once your application form has been submitted, along with the £155 administration fee, we will support and guide you through the entire process.

Along with the form, applicants will need to submit a current passport, school report and birth certificate.

Applications can be made online via our quick and easy form, here. Alternatively, you can request a paper-based application form by emailing us at or calling us on 01522 551300.

Step 2: Contact Current School

If applicable, we’ll contact your child’s current school to request SEN forms, Pastoral forms and references. You won’t need to do anything at this stage, as we’ll work with the schools directly.

Step 3: Application Form Review

As soon as your application has been submitted, our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) will begin the review process. Here our SLT will review the application form to ensure your child meets the standard requirements for enrolment, including previous academic results, behaviour reports and any extra-curricular talents and interests.

Step 4: Acceptance Confirmation

Depending on the time of year the application was made, we are usually able to share the results of the SLT review process within 7 days. This will be confirmed via email, followed by a telephone call to ensure you’re aware of the next steps.

At this stage we will send you an online Acceptance Pack for you to sign and return, confirming the acceptance. The Acceptance pack will include contracts and insurance forms.

If your application was unsuccessful, an email will be sent to the primary email address on the application form with reasoning for the result.

Step 5: Welcome Pack

After the signed Acceptance Forms are returned, we will send you a Welcome Pack close to the time of enrolment (depending on the time of year your child’s place is accepted). This pack will include details regarding enrolment and joining the school as well as numerous forms for you to fill in and return, including medical forms and swimming permissions.

Step 6: Enrolment

We know how unnerving starting a new school can be, so we ensure your child has a warm, welcoming start to school life here at Lincoln Minster School. Your child will receive constant support from staff and teachers, as well as an assigned buddy (if joining during the academic year) who will look after them in lessons and help them to settle in.

Once you join the Lincoln Minster School family, we'll support you and your child throughout their entire educational and developmental journey with us. Parents are invited to become part of our Friends of Lincoln Minster School (FoLMS) committee, a welcoming community of parents, staff and friends of the school with a mission to make the school a better place for pupils to learn.

Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA)
