LINCOLN MINSTER SCHOOL

BOARDING

A safe and welcoming home from home.

Boarding

A spectacular boarding environment in the heart of Lincoln’s Cathedral Quarter.

We will not be accepting boarders for the academic year 2024-25.

Our boarding house, The Mount, is situated on the school site and is overseen by highly-experienced and approachable boarding staff.

We pride ourselves on making every pupil's boarding experience a happy and productive one and have a range of boarding options to suit every family. Step inside a boarding culture where each boarder – whether weekly or flexi – is treated as equal members of our boarding family.

Our boarders make friends for life through a whole range of fun and exciting activities and adventures, including cinema nights, baking nights, go karting, crazy golf, jewellery making, Lego masters competition, Scalextric grand prix and pamper nights.

See the current full list of activities for 2023/24, here.

For more information, please read our Boarding Handbook below. Alternatively, discover how we can support forces families, here.

Weekly Boarding

Weekly boarding is our ‘full boarding option’. Pupils are allocated their own bed and will be able to settle into their boarding space for the term. Sixth form students will be given single accommodation. Weekly boarding is charged at £8,471 (years 3-6) and £9,802 (years 7-13) per term and will be added to the school fees invoice.

Flexi Boarding

Pupils have the option to flexi board in The Mount between one and three nights per week from Tuesday to Thursday evenings. The nights a pupil boards must be agreed, subject to availability, through the Housemistress, prior to the start of each term.

Flexi boarding is conditional on pupils respecting the rules and routines of the House and understanding that for others in the house it is not a "sleepover". The Houseparent of The Mount reserves the right to stop a pupil from boarding if they fail to meet the expectations which come with being a Boarder. This is to support the wellbeing of all the pupils in our care, some of whom will be studying for GCSE and A level exams.

Should a pupil wish to reduce their nights, stop flexi boarding or change the nights they are boarding, then half a term's notice should be given in writing to the Housemistress of The Mount. Pupils may increase their nights throughout the term, subject to availability. If other variations of this arrangement are needed this can be discussed with the Head of Boarding on a case by case basis.

Flexi boarding nights are charged per school night at a value of £57 and this will be added to the school fees invoice.
