Our flexible approach to education ensures that every pupil can flourish in their own way. Learning extends far beyond the classroom through rich outdoor experiences, creative exploration and opportunities that inspire curiosity and independence.
Guided by our school ethos – Ready, Respectful, Safe – we foster a caring community where children develop not just strong academic foundations, but the character and confidence to thrive.
We’re not just preparing pupils for the next stage of education, we’re setting them up for happy, successful lives.
At Lincoln Minster, we believe every child must feel happy, valued and supported to thrive academically, personally and socially. This is reflected in our school culture, which champions the success of every child and is built on strong pastoral care. Our guiding principles, Ready, Respectful and Safe, drive our educational philosophy. We are dedicated to providing an outstanding education that empowers children to excel academically and equips them with the skills and attitudes needed for lifelong success. Small class sizes, skilled and caring staff, and excellent facilities combine history and tradition with modern design and technology. Learning extends beyond the classroom through a broad curriculum, extensive co-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities in the creative arts and sport. We also value our special relationship with Lincoln Cathedral, where pupils regularly attend and perform during services and celebrations.

Pupil wellbeing is at the center of everything we do. Our child-centered approach ensures that every pupil feels happy, supported and ready to succeed. In our caring community, children build confidence, form friendships and develop a strong sense of belonging.
Recognised as the Independent School of the Year for Student Wellbeing in 2023 and a STEER Champion School, we take pride in our proactive approach to emotional development and early intervention.
From outdoor learning and mindfulness activities to our dedicated Wellbeing Pod, each experience helps pupils grow in confidence and resilience. Through programs like Mindful Monsters and our Mental Health Champions, students learn to care for themselves and others by developing empathy, balance, and happiness, which set them up for a successful future.

We foster a lifelong love of learning by creating an environment where curiosity thrives, questions are welcomed and discovery is celebrated. Our comprehensive and engaging curriculum ensures that every student can develop the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary for future success.
Learning goes beyond the classroom with a diverse range of co-curricular opportunities, including music, sports, drama, outdoor education and creative clubs.
From Year 4 onwards, each student is provided with their own iPad to enhance teaching and learning, promoting collaboration, creativity and digital confidence. You can explore how our approach supports academic excellence on our SATs Results page.
We are dedicated to providing our students with a diverse array of educational and residential trips that are intricately woven into our curriculum. These experiences not only make learning more engaging and interactive but also encourage personal growth and independence, leaving students with lasting memories that enrich their educational journey. Our students met the Red Arrows at RAF Waddington, visited the University of Oxford and enjoyed residential stays in France and London.
A cornerstone of our school’s identity is our termly services held at the historic Lincoln Cathedral. During these gatherings, the entire school community comes together to celebrate achievements and reflect on our shared academic journey. These services have been a cherished tradition at Lincoln Minster School for over a century, fostering a strong sense of community and belonging among students, staff, and families. Each service marks a significant milestone in the students' educational path, reinforcing our commitment to their personal and academic growth.
Learning and discovery continue beyond the school term with our Holiday Club for children aged 4 to 11! This fun and nurturing environment offers a balanced mix of creative play, outdoor adventures, and activities led by both internal and external providers.
Recent sessions have included a bhangra dance class, a reptile experience, junk percussion, circus skills, a weekly bouncy castle, and visits to Go Ape at Sherwood Pines, the tropical butterfly house, and Sundown Adventureland.
Our Holiday Club is open to both current students and families from outside the school, ensuring high-quality childcare throughout the school holidays. This way, the Lincoln Minster experience can be enjoyed all year round!
