Preparatory Academic Life

Nurturing your child's future

Our priority is to ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to reach their full potential through a diverse curriculum, exceptional teaching, pastoral support, and an exciting array of clubs and activities. Core subjects are enhanced by specialist input in specific areas. Each class is taught by a teacher who plans and delivers both core and foundation subjects, while specialist teachers provide instruction in Music, Spanish, PE, Games, and Swimming. Outdoor learning is integrated into the school curriculum, with a beautiful outdoor learning area that extends the classroom and enriches the learning experience.

Our curriculum incorporates the following subjects:

  • English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, Design Technology, Art, Music, French, Spanish, Computing, PE, RE, Drama

  • Timetabled orchestra lessons for pupils in Years 5 and 6

  • Computing across the curriculum

Learning at Lincoln Minster School

Learning at Lincoln Minster School is fun, exciting and inviting, with all children learning through play and interaction. We offer a broad curriculum linked through topics to provide opportunities for the children to extend experiences and further their learning and knowledge. Art, Drama, Music and Sport are key parts of the experience.

Above all, in every area we encourage independence, thinking and investigating, enquiring minds, imagination, creativity, self-confidence and communication. We treat every child as an individual and believe that happy children are learning children.

We use the Development Matters Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage, but we believe in a flexible approach – especially if that means taking a break to play in the first snow of the year or to admire a rainbow!

Preparing for digital futures

We believe it's important to prepare our pupils for the digital world ahead. We provide each pupil from Year 4 onward with their own iPad to support their teaching and learning. They can take home their own iPad to allow them to continue learning and complete set homework tasks.
