With time allocated during the school day, these clubs allow students the freedom to explore their passions, discover new talents, and cultivate a genuine love of learning, all within a happy and supportive environment.

Children can build emotional awareness, focus and resilience. This club aims to help children manage emotions, reduce stress, build empathy and nurture kindness, a great way to support mental wellbeing.

Minster Medics

Children will be provided with an age-appropriate introduction to a number of medical and first-aid topics, from two LMS Doctor Mums. They will be equipped with skills to respond in medical emergencies, to provide first aid for everyday injuries and be educated on a number of medical conditions common in children.

Modern Dance

Following the ISTD syllabus.

Modern theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. In Modern Dance, we learn and develop the basics of theatrical dance.

We incorporate basic exercises for physical development (posture, stretching, strengthening and co-ordination) alongside performance qualities of style and musicality, all set to fun and specially composed music. We follow the internationally recognised syllabus of the ISTD.

Musical Theatre

Prepare those Jazz hands!

Each session, we will teach the children a musical number which they will be able to perform (singing, dancing and acting) at the end of term. We hope this will give them a love of musical theatre and encourage them to be confident.  We will enhance their singing and dance skills during these sessions. If they enjoy working with us, we have many other classes, and they can then join The Curious Academy Of Talent and this will help them gain a place there.

Netball

High Five Netball

Open to both girls and boys, High Five Netball is a fun, inclusive game. We will work on skills and drills and then put them into a game. We have also joined the local High Five League, so there will be opportunities to play against other schools.

Our drum teacher, Mr Clark, will be leading a percussion group. You do not need to be learning percussion to attend; just enjoy playing classroom percussion instruments together.
