The best in everyone

Bringing out 'the best in everyone' means recognising that every child learns in a different way and has different talents, enthusiasms, ambitions and abilities. Our independent curriculum and progressive teaching give us the flexibility to tailor our approach to the needs of each individual child.

Lincoln Cathedral

Our students enjoy the privilege of assemblies, services and regular concerts and recitals in the magnificent Lincoln Cathedral - many even get to perform here. It is an awe-inspiring experience and one of the many wonderful memories that students take with them when they leave us and go onto rewarding careers.

Music at Minster

Music is central to life at Lincoln Minster. Whether performing, learning or just enjoying, all our students are involved in musical events at the School or Cathedral and we have a huge selection of choirs and ensembles. Lincoln Minster School also provides choristers for the Lincoln Cathedral Choir and we regularly hold auditions for boys and girls to take up this wonderful opportunity.

Welcome from the Head of the School

Clive Rickart, Principal

"Lincoln Minster School is a family school where individuals come first, where all pupils have a role to play and a priority is placed on achievement. It is the people who make the school. There is no substitute for inspired, quality teaching, motivated pupils, supportive parents and governors - all the people who care.

"The most important element of this school, 'the heart', is our sense of community which stresses a belonging, an affection and a proud spirit. As a school community we must be demanding, challenging, and clear in the direction of travel, demonstrating a mutual respect, honesty, integrity and spiritual dimension. In all of this we are driven by one thing: a deep love of children.

"This new website should give you lots of information and inspiration. But please do bear in mind that the website will evolve as the year unfolds. We appreciate your feedback so if there is anything you would like to see on these pages, please get in touch."

Clive Rickart, Principal

A dynamic school built on traditional principles

Lincoln Minster School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils between the ages of 2 and 18. We aim to educate every pupil to be happy and self-confident with a grasp of spiritual values and the skills and knowledge needed to live and prosper in the adult world.

At the heart of historic Lincoln and in the shadow of its magnificent cathedral, Lincoln Minster School students enjoy the very best mix of traditional and modern. We nurture every gift, every talent, every enthusiasm through our wide range of academic courses, enviable student-teacher ratios, impressive specialist facilities and regular activities. Rest assured that at Lincoln Minster, we will bring out the best in your child.

Testimonials

“When I first came to boarding school I thought it would be strict and full of rules with unfriendly people, but I was wrong. Lincoln Minster boarding has a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere that made me feel comfortable and the other boarders were very friendly to me and I felt like I was one of them already. I liked how the staff respected our privacy and how they allowed us to get on with studying in our own way and time. I liked that we could always be where our friends are and never feel lonely.” Year 12 Boarder

“Since being a boarder I have met teenagers from Korea, Hong Kong, South Africa, Germany and from many different parts of the UK, all of which have had a different way of life to me. These differences make boarding interesting and enjoyable. Some of these friendships are the best part about boarding. At the boarding house there is always someone about to do things with and so you are never lonely. I have really enjoyed the day trips, which the boarding house arranges because I have more fun with a large group of people. The boarding staff are kind, helpful and very fair, some even have a sense of humour and we can have a lot of fun and laughs outside of school.” Year 12 Boarder
