Curriculum

At Lincoln Minster Senior School, we specialise in finding the best in every pupil and place equal value on cultural, technological, scientific, linguistic and creative subjects. So whatever your child’s interests and talents, you can be sure they will be given equal emphasis and attention during these crucial years.

Lincoln Minster Senior School has an impressive academic tradition with very good examination results producing excellent ‘Added Value’ ratings. A broad and balanced curriculum places equal value on cultural, technological, scientific, linguistic and creative ability, with most pupils studying between 8 and 10 GCSEs.

This year’s extremely impressive A-level results are a testament to the Senior School’s teaching excellence. Headmaster Mark Wallace commented: “These terrific results are a result of the hard work and commitment of our students coupled with outstanding teaching. There is a desire to do well and a commitment to each student. We are non-selective in our intake and as such this level of performance is even more remarkable.”

The National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies are used as a framework for English and Mathematics. However, the curriculum, both in and beyond the classroom, is so much richer than a list of subjects can convey. With many opportunities for performance and many challenges spurring pupils on to greater achievement the School creates a superb learning environment designed to bring out the ‘best in everyone’.
