Lincoln Minster School is celebrating 21 years of dedication from Director of Sport, Mr Tom Eves, whose contribution to school life has extended far beyond the sports field.
Since joining the School in 2005, Mr Eves has led the Sports Department, supported Food Technology, coordinated trips and visits, and played a central role in expanding the School’s co-curricular provision. Today, pupils across Prep, Senior and Sixth Form can access over 100 different co-curricular opportunities throughout the year, providing an exceptional breadth of activities beyond the classroom.
Mr Eves has also been instrumental in developing the School’s performance programmes in rowing, squash and tennis, alongside a thriving scholarship programme. Over the years, he has taught and supported many of the School’s sporting alumni, including Jack Harvey, Lizzie Simmonds, Perry Humphreys, Poppy Miller and Jordan & Ryan Olowofela.
His commitment to sport extends beyond Lincoln Minster School. Mr Eves is the England Hockey U16 Boys Team Manager, taking the team across Europe for training camps, and serves on the Executive Board of Lindum Sports Association, where LMS pupils make use of the sports facilities.
Among his many contributions, Mr Eve's longstanding work organising the Harry Bhalla Memorial Football Match holds a particularly special place in the School community. Harry, an LMS student who sadly lost his life, is remembered through this annual event, which Mr Eve has organised for many years. The match has raised significant funds for charity over the years, while ensuring Harry’s memory continues to be honoured by pupils, staff and the wider community.
Mr Eve's achievements have also included helping Lincoln Minster School secure a Guinness World Record in 2019 for the highest-altitude game of street hockey in Nepal.
