Lincoln Minster School is celebrating the achievements of its Year 11 students, who have received their GCSE results today and are preparing for the next stage of their education.
Among this year’s results, 26% of grades were awarded at 9–8 and 75% at 9–5. Our results at grade 7 or above were 19% higher than the East Midlands regional average. Alongside these impressive figures, students have achieved a wide range of individual successes across their subjects, giving them a strong platform for whatever they choose to do next. Special mention should also go to our English, History and Religious Studies departments, which were among the subjects demonstrating the highest added value, reflecting the impact of our dedicated teaching and support.
For most, the next step will be Sixth Form at Lincoln Minster School, where they can continue their studies in a familiar community while taking on greater independence and responsibility. The results also mark an important milestone for students as they move into the next stage of their education.

“Results day is always a special moment for our students. Behind every set of grades is months of preparation, perseverance and support, and it is wonderful to see our Year 11 students reach this point today.
I am looking forward to welcoming new and existing students into our Sixth Form and seeing them take the next step in their development. They have achieved something to be proud of today, and I hope they take that sense of achievement and confidence with them as they continue their education.”
Lily H, who achieved an impressive 8 grade 9s, will be continuing her studies at Lincoln Minster School Sixth Form. Today, Lily said:
“I’ve been at Lincoln Minster School since Year 2, and I’ve really valued the one-to-one support I’ve received. The more effort you put in, the more the teachers give back, and I’m so grateful to all my teachers for helping me achieve these results. They’ve always listened to me, encouraged me, and supported me throughout.
I’m really looking forward to continuing my studies at Lincoln Minster Sixth Form, where I’ll be studying Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I’m hoping to go on to study Medicine at university.”
